What are Draw Options

The Draw Options are additional settings that you can use to further customize how your widgets look. The options that are available vary from widget type to widget type.

There is one draw option that is available for every widget type and that it Show sample data. This makes it so that the preview we show contains data from the first 1,000 rows in your dashboard’s database to allow you to build your widget without processing delays of fetching the data from the data range set on your dashboard. Do not worry when you save the widget to your custom dashboard you will see the data from that date range populating the widget!

Big Number

  • Compare data to prior period – Will always shows both the current and prior period of data using the date range selected
  • Font Size – Allows you to alter the font size of the numbers
  • Compact number – Rounds the number to a more ingestible format. When not enabled it will show the raw number in its totality - i.e. 10,000 becomes 10K
  • Display in center – Centers the text within the widget
  • Wrap number in circle – This will put the big number in a circle and limit the font size so that it fits

Gauge Chart

  • Compare data to prior period – Will always shows both the current and prior period of data using the date range selected
  • Hand drawn – This makes it so the gauge looks like it was drawn by a person. Makes the curve less perfect
  • Enable tooltips – Adds a text box detailing the data you are hovering over for a given group of data determined by the established group by option

Data Grid

  • Compare data to prior period – Will always shows both the current and prior period of data using the date range selected
  • Clip content in export – This will export the widget as it displays on the screen
  • Collapse overflowing columns – This allows you to show numerous metrics in a grid widget by adding what won’t fit in the dashboard as ellipses that can be expanded
  • Show overflowing columns in pop-up – This allows you to control whether or not the ellipses open in a pop-up window or as a wrapped text
  • Show total row – This enables a row that will show total values for the selected metrics
  • Full size images – This allows you to control whether or not the grid widget uses ad or image previews in full size or in scale
  • Number of records to display – This allows you to control how many rows the widget will display

Bar Chart

  • Compare data to prior period – Will always shows both the current and prior period of data using the date range selected
  • Show legend – Controls whether or not the widget will display which metric belongs to which color
  • Rotated – Allows you to turn the widget on its side so that the data is grouped on the y-axis rather than the x-axis
  • Value scroller – Allows you to control how much of a given widget shows and allows you to scroll in when the date range is longer.
  • Hand drawn – This makes it so the bars look like they were drawn by you
  • Normalize data – Adds a unique scale for each metric to allow for easier visualization
  • Show labels – Remove the numbers used for the scale from the widget
  • Enable tooltips – Adds a text box detailing the data you are hovering over for a given group of data determined by the established group by option
  • Show empty dates – Shows any dates that have zero data attributed to them in the widget
  • Depth – Allows you to alter the visual depth of the bar to create a 3D image
  • Angle – Allows you to alter the visual angle of the bar to create a 3D image
  • Plot Options
    • Clustered – Allows you to see individual bars for each metric
    • Stacked – Sums the metrics together by placing them on top of each other
    • 100% Stacked – Sums the metrics and makes that equal 100%. Then it will break that down by showing how much of that 100% belongs to each metric.
    • Deep Stacked – Places the metrics one in front of the other

Line Chart

  • Compare data to prior period – Will always shows both the current and prior period of data using the date range selected
  • Show legend – Controls whether or not the widget will display which metric belongs to which color
  • Rotated – Allows you to turn the widget on its side so that the data is grouped on the y-axis rather than the x-axis
  • Value scroller – Allows you to control how much of a given widget shows and allows you to scroll in when the date range is longer.
  • Hand drawn – This will make the line look like you have drawn it yourself
  • Normalize data – Adds a unique scale for each metric to allow for easier visualization
  • Show labels – Removes the numbers used for the scale from the widget
  • Enable tooltips – Adds a text box detailing the data you are hovering over for a given group of data determined by the established group by option
  • Enable bullets – Adds the bullets along the line marking the group by option’s point of intersection (in other words what total value that group by option has for that metric)
  • Smooth lines – Makes the lines rounded rather than angular.
  • Show empty dates – Shows any dates that have zero data attributed to them in the widget
  • Plot Options
    • Clustered – Allow you to see individual lines for each metric
    • Stacked – Sums the metrics together by placing them on top of each other and fill in the area between the lines with shading
    • 100% Stacked – Sums the metrics and makes that equal 100%. Then it will break that down by showing how much of that 100% belongs to each metric.
    • Deep Stacked – Fills in the area below the line and place the metrics one in front of the other

Combination Chart

  • Compare data to prior period – Will always shows both the current and prior period of data using the date range selected
  • Show legend – Controls whether or not the widget will display which metric belongs to which color
  • Rotated – Allows you to turn the widget on its side so that the data is grouped on the y-axis rather than the x-axis
  • Value scroller – Allows you to control how much of a given widget shows and allows you to scroll in when the date range is longer.
  • Hand drawn – This makes the bars and the line look you have drawn them yourself
