Bulk User Import

The Bulk User import is a way to quickly manage a large group of users, whether to add a larger grouping of new users or to edit the existing users within the dashboard.

Adding New Users

  1. Click Administration.
  2. Click Users.
  3. Click Import CSV, next to the Users header.
  4. Click on Download CSV headers to get the file format the information needs to be in. Note that we recommend downloading a fresh file each time rather than saving a copy on your computer as things do change.
  5. Open the downloaded file.
  6. In the  file:
    1. Enter the type of Action that row will perform within the Action column. You can either Add User or Add/Edit User. Please note that these are case sensitive!
    2. Enter the User Type: superadmin, cluster_admin, agent or client. Please note that these are case sensitive too!
    3. Make sure that you give Clients a Company Name.
    4. Agents, Business Unit Admins, and Super Admins require:
      1. Email
      2. Password
      3. First Name
      4. Last Name
      5. Data Profile​
    5. Additionally Agents require: Agent Client Group and a Role Name. Note: These must already exist in the system.
    6. Additionally Business Unit Admins require: Cluster and a Role Name. Note: These must already exist in the system.
  7. Save the file to your computer.
  8. Go back to the dashboard.
  9. Click on Upload.
  10. This will bring you to a User import summary page which details what worked and what failed. You can export the failed report so that you can fix the failed entries.
  11. Click on Close and you are done!

Editing Users

  1. Click Administration.
  2. Click Users.
  3. Click Export to CSV button next to the Users header.
  4. Open the file.
  5. This file lists all of your dashboard's users.
  6. To edit the users, set the Action type as Add/Edit User in the row that you are editing.
  7. To send a welcome email to the user enter Notify into the Action column and enter yes in the Notification column.
  8. Alter any of the fields that contain data or add data to other columns. Note: the required fields when editing users are identical to the required fields when adding new users. Don't leave anything blank. Don't delete anything unless you intend for it to be blank.
  9. Save the file with your edits to your computer.
  10. Go back to the dashboard.
  11. Click Import CSV file.
  12. Click Select CSV file to browse for the file that you just created.
  13. Click Upload.
  14. This will bring you to a User import summary page which will detail what worked and what failed. You can export the failed report so that you can fix the entries that failed.
  15. Click Close and you are done!
